Counter-Strike: Global Offensive is an online first-person shooter game developed by Valve Corporation and Hidden Path Entertainment and released on Steam, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3.

Issues[edit]

Pick team screen gets frozen[edit]

When you join a community server and choose a team, but the game starts playing in the background, but you are still on the pick team screen even though you picked a team and it's stuck until you re-select a resolution[1]

Press m multiple times

Press ESC on your keyboard Select Choose teams -> Pick your team

Open the console by pressing the ~ key Type teammenu and hit enter

Open the console Type alias "fix" "mat_setvideomode 1920 1080 1; mat_setvideomode 1920 1080 0" and hit enter

Enhancements[edit]

Playing at 4:3 1440x1080 stretched resolution[edit]

Playing at a resolution of 1440x1080 gives the advantage of being high definition while also increasing the size of player models ingame, thereby making it easier to spot enemies.

nVidia users:

  1. Open nVidia control panel
  2. Click on Display -> Change Resolution
  3. Click Customize
  4. Click on Create Custom Resolution
  5. Set the Horizontal pixels to 1440
  6. Set the Vertical lines to 1080
  7. Click Test
  8. When the dialog asking you if you want to save the resolution or not pops up, click Yes
  9. Click OK
  10. Open Steam and right click on CS:GO in your Steam library
  11. Click Properties -> Set Launch Options
  12. Copy and paste -full -w 1440 -h 1080
  13. Click OK
  14. Play CS:GO

If you're having issues with CS:GO displaying at a non-stretched resolution with black bars then follow these steps:

Fixing non-stretched resolution in CS:GO:

  1. Open nVidia control panel
  2. Click on Display -> Adjust desktop size and position
  3. Under scaling, select Full-screen
  4. Click apply
  5. Run CS:GO
