Yes, if possible can you format it like so:

Windows 8 gets a black screen when booting up[edit]
(Cause or probable cause description here) i.e. the most probably cause of this problem is outdated video drivers.
Solution
- Go to your PC's video card manufacturer (nVidia or AMD)
- Download the latest drivers
- Install them
- Restart your pc and it should be fixed
If you have more than one solution than add in solution 2
