Nexus 4 displays red light and won't charge
If your Nexus 4 phone's battery has been depleted and you have not used it in a while, you may encounter an issue where the phone refuses to charge. The phone displays a red light when you plug it in via USB. Sometimes it does not even display the red light
Solution[1]
- Unplug the phone from the charger or usb cable
- Press and hold the volume down button plus power button for 15 seconds
- Plug in the usb cable while still holding both buttons. The red light should start to blink
- After 4-5 blinks release the buttons
- Wait some seconds and then press the power button and it should boot or display the battery charging animation
