Far Cry 3 is the third installment in the Far Cry series developed by Ubisoft.

Issues

Far Cry 3 has stopped working

When pressing play game in Uplay, Far Cry 3 opens and a black screen appears followed immediately by a message box saying 'Far Cry 3 has stopped working'. This issue can arise from the computer suddenly losing power, e.g. a computer crash, a power out, etc.

Solution

  1. Open your Documents folder
  2. Double click My Games
  3. Open the Far Cry 3 folder
  4. Delete GamerProfile.xml
  5. Run Far Cry 3


Upon deleting GamerProfile.xml you will need to update Far Cry 3's settings as this file stores them.
